However, we understand that things come up that prevent students from participating as planned. Please review our refund policy and note that we do not make exceptions.

The Program Fee is Refunded if:

1. A project is cancelled.

2. You request a refund in writing 60 days prior to the program start date.

We do not give refunds for any reason less than 60 days prior to the program start date.

 

Refunds cannot be given for:

1. Cancellations within 60 days of the project start.  

2. Meeting place “no shows”.  

3. Team members leaving or dismissed during a project.

In-country refund policy

We make most of our logistical reservations several months ahead of the program start date.  For this reason, our In-Country Fees are 75% refundable if a team member cancels from a project no later than 42 days before the program begins.  If a participant withdraws from a project within 42 days of the program’s start date, the In-country Fee is non-refundable. This policy is necessary because much of the project team's expenditures must be paid and/or committed to before the program takes place.

75% OF THE IN-COUNTRY IS REFUNDED IF:

Application fee refund policy

The Application Fee become non-refundable upon acceptance in the project of your choice. Your receipt of our “Acceptance” email is confirmation of your acceptance.   

THE APPLICATION FEE IS REFUNDED IF:

1. A project is cancelled.

2. You were never formally accepted into a program and did not receive our “Acceptance” email
 
Wildlands Studies reserves the right to change or cancel a project.  Wildlands Studies is not responsible for non-refundable airline or other tickets, or payments or any similar penalties that may be incurred as a result of any course cancellation.

Travel Insurance with Trip Cancellation

We require travel insurance on all our international programs.  We strongly encourage participants to purchase a travel insurance policy that includes trip cancellation coverage.  Typically, if you have to cancel from the program and have trip cancellation insurance, with appropriate information (such as a doctor’s note), the insurance would reimburse your out-of-pocket costs. This is one way to ensure you can recover your program fees.
